NeX-Files Navigational Tips

  Let's face it. With over 1000 transcripts which encompass Ned, Alexis, the Quartermaines, and the Cassadines, it can get a little confusing out there in The NeX-Files. Even Ned and Alexis needed some help! Follow them on their mission (hotlink mission) and learn to navigate with them, and/or choose a cut to the chase version of navigating tips (hotlink to navigating tips).

NOTE: To download/listen to the soundbites within the transcripts, you must have Real Player -- (click here) to download if you don't already have it. Then, simply click on the link of the soundbite to download it.

If you're looking for a transcript we don't have, or can't find one, or would like to be part of the transcript staff, please email Nex-Files@nedalexis.com!

Ned & Alexis' Mission to Find Their Storylines:

Ned and Alexis stealthily sneak up to the GH studios after a "strategy meeting" at the PC Grille. It's dark, it's foggy, and they have only their flashlights to light the way. Their Mission? To find their storylines.

They arrive at "the gate" of the studio where the night guard is on duty. Ned, in his best "I'm supposed to be here" saunter, attempts to walk right past him.

Alexis: (pulling on Ned's tie to hold him back) You told me we'd be able to sneak right in, Ned!

Ned: Alexis, as much as I love your tie fetish (he grins seductively), we have work to do.

Alexis: (snaps the tie in his face, playfully) I KNOW that, Ned. I just thought you'd be more prepared!!!

Ned: Oh, but I am.... (he grins mysteriously, puts his fingers to his lips, and whistles)

From out of every dark corner, behind every piece of shrubbery, every lamp-post, reinforcements dressed in purple robes, carrying secret knap-sacks, emerge. Alexis watches in wonder, an insuppressible smile playing on her lips, as they file in line in front of she and Ned.

Alexis: (to Ned, but still looking admirably at the group before her) The Gatekeepers! (the group salutes them) How did you --

Ned: Find them? (Alexis nods "yes" and a familiar wink appears in Ned's expression) I had the most amazing dream last night, Alexis.... (Alexis reaches for his tie again and she and The Gatekeepers sigh wistfully in unison) Not that kind of dream! (Alexis and The Gatekeepers pout for a moment and then return to the business at hand, as does Ned) I knew we couldn't be the only ones in search of our storylines. And they...appeared to me..... Now all we have to do is sneak into Guza's office, figure out his computer password, get on the internet, and Voila! All our storylines can be found at "The Gate!"

Alexis: I always have said you were incredibly brilliant, Ned. (she smiles and leans in to kiss him) Shall we?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A short while later, with a little assistance from The Gatekeepers, Ned and Alexis are in "The NeX-Files."
Alexis: (to Ned) So all we have to do to read about your exploits with... let's say... for instance... Monica -- before you knew she was your aunt, of course -- is to use The NeX-Files search engine at the bottom of every index page, or click on "The Quartermaine NeX-Files"? (she grins wickedly)
Ned: (gritting through his teeth but trying to maintain his composure) You could do that, yes. You could also -- if one really wanted to -- do a search for all the times your cousin/brother nearly KISSED you by using the same search engine (Ned quickly types "Stefan Alexis kiss" in the Search Engine box), or by going to "The Cassadine NeX-Files." You see, each and every transcript has a list of the characters included in parantheses, so it's easy to find the transcripts with you and Stefan in them no matter if you're on the NeX-Files By Date index page, the Alexis NeX-Files, or the Cassadine NeX-Files.
A moment later, a list of several transcript links appear on the screen which include the contents of Ned's search. (Click [here] do see the search and follow along in a new browser window)
Alexis: (a little nervous) Well... you know what they say.... (Ned looks at her quizzically, challenging her) You can't always believe what you read. (she smiles)
Overhearing Alexis' comment, a Gatekeeper clicks on [one of the transcript links] from the search, and that transcript loads on the page.
Alexis: (mouth agape, horrified) They have pictures!!! And.... and sound files! (clutching Ned's arm tightly) What is Stefan doing with that medallion???
Ned: I don't know, but I have the sudden urge to throttle him!!
Alexis: (trying to distract him) What are the "Nexis NeX-Files"?
A dutiful Gatekeeper clicks on "Nexis NeX-Files" on the navigation bar on the left-hand side of the page.
Ned: (surprised at the size of the list) Who knew we had that many scenes?
Alexis: It boggles the mind. (glances through the index) Oh, let's go here. (she points to the transcript link for their [First Annual Valentine's Date] and the Gatekeeper clicks on it) Oh, we can actually hear the sounds of the sound machine you gave me....
Ned: (wistfully) Let's stay here awhile....
Simple Navigation Tips:
We've done our best to make things as clear as possible on The NeX-Files. You can choose to view transcripts by date, by character (Alexis or Ned), by family (Cassadine or Quartermaine), or by couple (Nexis).
Once you choose how you'd like to view transcripts and are on the index page for that organization, you need to know a few [keys]:
  • Characters: The Characters included in each transcript are indicated in parentheses after the transcript title. On most browsers, you can use the "Find" option to see where a particular character appears in transcripts for easy reference (though you can also use our search engine to do so). In some cases, the characters are too numerous to mention -- in courtroom scenes, for example. In those instances, you will either see "et al" (for "and others") or a large group like "PCPD" or "Courtroom."
  • "P" Before the Title: A "P" to the left of the transcript title indicates there are pictures from those scenes included in the transcript.
  • "M" Before the Title: An "M" to the left of the transcript title indicates there is a video clip(s) from those scenes included in the transcript.  To watch these movies, you must have Real Player -- click here to download if you don't already have it.
  • An "S" Before the Title: An "S" to the left of the transcript title indicates there are sound bites included in the transcript which you can download. To listen to the soundbites, you must have Real Player -- click here to download if you don't already have it.
  • Transcript Titles: If the title is in quotation marks, the title is a direct phrase or line from the transcript. If the title is not in quotation marks, it's an original title based on the transcript content.
